SPS Barbecues are barbecue events that SPS hosts for the physics community roughly every month. In general they are held in the courtyard between Leconte and Birge on Fridays from noon to 2 pm. It's a great way for the physics community to mingle and meet new friends over good, affordable food. To make sure the barbecues run smoothly, roughly 3 to 5 volunteers help set up, cook, and/or clean up in exchange for free food. Barbecues are always a jolly good time for everyone.

Erika manages the orders at the yearly prospective graduate student barbecue, a department tradition designed to woo would-be graduate students to the Bay Area dark side. We’ll do whatever it takes to sweeten the deal.
Few things bring the department closer together than does a well-placed SPS barbecue. Watch as undergraduates, grad students, postdocs, and professors alike amass for the rare opportunity to gourge on hot links among good company.
