To fill some space, here's my cirriculum vitae.

Hi, I'm Brandon. It's nice to meet you.

I currently live in Honolulu, Hawaii, where I'll be until June 2006, working at the Institute for Astronomy at the University of Hawaii. Next year I'll move back to the mainland to Tucson, Arizona for the graduate program at Steward Observatory at the University of Arizona.

I just spent the last 5 years of my life in Berkeley where I got a B.A. in Physics and Astrophysics at UC Berkeley. Apparently, the University doesn't like to recognize physics as a science and gives all the physics majors B.A.'s instead. Or something. It doesn't matter anyway. I had a great time and I hope that everyone could be as lucky to live in such an awesome place.

Before college, I was born and raised in the Antelope Valley, a magical, mythical place on the western edge of the Mojave Desert bordered by the Tehachapi Mountains to the north and the San Gabriel Mountains to the south. Actually, it's neither magical nor mythical, but the desert is still very nice at times. Bakersfield and Los Angeles are an hour or so away on either side of those mountains, respectively. If you're from the Antelope Valley, I'm from Quartz Hill. If you're from LA, I'm from Lancaster or Palmdale, if you've ever heard of either of those places.

So I guess since this is the internet, the next logical thing for me to do is to define myself with a list of things that I like or don't like so that you feel you came away from this little experience knowing me somehow. Ok, fine.

I love to be with my friends, especially my girlfriend, Kat.
Astronomy is certainly the coolest thing ever.
Indian, Thai, and Japanese food are my weakness.
I enjoy a good night's sleep, though I hardly ever remember what I dream about.
I like to stand on top of mountains or on the edge of a precipice or basically any place that is really, really high.
Dishes in my sink are intolerable but my room could use a bit of work.
I love a good adventure from time to time.
Dark, malty beer is far superior to the lighter or hoppier variety.
I am a published poet.
I've been getting into rock climbing lately after years of saying that I wanted to.
I'm in a federal database of railroad offenders.
